Laughter is the Best Medicine

Laughter is strong medicine. How?

1. Relaxes the whole body - relieves physical tension and stress

2. Boosts the immune system - by decreasing stress hormones and increasing immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, it improves our resistance to disease

3. Triggers the realse of endorphins - this is the body's natural "feel-good" hormones that promotes an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain

4. Protects the heart- increases blood flow, thus protecting you against heart attacks and other cardiovascular problems

5. Draws you closer to others- this has a profound effect on all aspects of your mental and emotional health

6. Shifts perspective- allows you to see situations in a more realistic, less threatening light

7. Let go of defensiveness- helps you forget resentment, judgment, criticism and doubt
