1. Medication Availability
Due to the national shortage of ADHD medications, Elevate Medical cannot guarantee the availability of specific medications at any given pharmacy.
What You Need to Know:
It is your responsibility to contact multiple pharmacies to verify availability.
If your prescribed medication is unavailable at one pharmacy, you may need to check other pharmacies in your area. NYC has thousands of pharmacies, and it's essential to be proactive.
Alternative Medications: If your medication is unavailable for an extended period, we recommend discussing alternative medications with your provider.
2. Prescription Refills & Federal Regulations
To ensure compliance with federal regulations and to manage your treatment effectively, the following policy applies:
Maximum Supply: Elevate Medical can only prescribe a 30-day supply of any controlled substance (including ADHD medications).
Follow-up Appointment: A follow-up visit is required before any new prescription refill can be issued. It’s essential to schedule regular appointments to avoid any interruptions in your medication regimen.
Timely Refills: To prevent lapses in medication, please request refills well in advance and ensure follow-up appointments are scheduled before running out of your medication.
3. Your Responsibility & Communication
As a patient, you are responsible for:
Finding a Pharmacy: Due to the shortage, you must contact pharmacies in your area to ensure they have your prescribed medication in stock.
Proactive Communication: If you encounter difficulties, please notify our office as soon as possible so we can discuss alternative medications or assist in managing the situation.
We cannot track individual pharmacy inventories. It’s important that you communicate any issues promptly.
